In an effort to get this new endeavour up and running, my schedule will have to change at Whistling Gardens.

I am now available exclusively on Sundays at 3pm.

We are about to embark on our 2015 season of Yoga in the Gardens! I'm so honoured to be a part of the Whistling Gardens team, and to be gifted with the opportunity to guide yoga classes in this award winning space.


Classes will commence in May; Sundays at 3:00 pm & Fridays at Noon (with the addition of Monday nights June-August)

Daytime sessions will be held in the Temple Garden and evening sessions will be held in the Welcome Garden.

Class Descriptions

 

Please BRING (to all classes): personal yoga mat, large and/or small towel, water and optional cushion/pillow and/or blanket and please WEAR (to all classes): layered clothing; easy to remove and replace as body temperature rises and falls, sunscreen and bug repellent as necessary

 

Sun Salutations: Yoga 101, if you will; in depth break down and practice of Hatha and Ashtanga Yoga’s base flow; appropriate for all ages and fitness levels; a great introduction for beginners and a wonderfully meditative class for more experienced practitioners

 

Sun Salutations with Warrior Series: same as above with seamless integration of several ‘staple’ standing postures; working knowledge of basic Sun Salutations is an asset

 

Moon Salutations: Sun Salutation’s sister; a cooler, calmer base flow;  appropriate for all

 

Earth: focus on foundational movements, balance postures and core strength and stability; appropriate for all, with specific benefit to the beginner/intermediate practitioner

 

Air: focus on uplifting movements, inversions and pranayama (discipline of breath); this class is not appropriate for those with unmanaged high/ low blood pressure or clinical neck concerns

 

Fire: focus on heating movements, backbends and hip openers; this class is not appropriate for those with unmanaged high/low blood pressure or clinical spinal concerns

 

Water: focus on cooling movements, and self-guided intuitive and creative flow; appropriate for all, with specific benefit to those ready to put a personal signature on their practice


Space: focus on Yin Yoga, restorative postures & meditation; appropriate for all

 

Please note: with sincere apologies, none of the above group classes are appropriate for those who are unable to support their own weight and/or are unable to descend and ascend to/from the ground unaided. If a chair or individual attention is required, please feel encouraged to inquire about private yoga sessions (one-on-one or special population groups)

 

Private Yoga Sessions: day, time and focus are all up to you; these sessions are recommended to individuals and groups of all ages, gender and fitness level who prefer a bit more ‘catering’, if you will

Bring a Friend Special ~ When you and a friend each purchase a Class Pass (of any number of classes), you will each enjoy a double discount

(ex. An individual purchasing a 10 Class Pass saves $10, but two individuals, each purchasing a 10 Class Pass save $20 each)

 

Private Yoga Sessions


One-on-one:

$30.00/class or $100.00/four classes

Groups of 2-6:

$25.00/class/person or $90.00/four classes/person

Groups of 7+:

$20.00/class/person or $65.00/four classes/person

* The Fine Print *

 

  1.  All fees have HST ‘built-in’
  2. All fees are to be paid in full upon commencement of (first) class by cash or personal cheque
  3. All participants are required to read, understand and sign a waiver of consent; Dawn Maas reserves the right to deny participation to any perspective participant if she feels commencing/continuing a yoga program would be harmful
  4. All participants purchasing a Class Pass, Private one-on-one or Group Sessions are required to read, understand and sign a ‘Good Karma Claus’, outlining refund policies

RE: ‘Bring a Friend’ Specials ~ you and your friend(s) do NOT have to attend the same classes together

 

RE: Four-Class-Pass Private Yoga Sessions for Groups ~ while price adjustments (increases) will NOT be made for any group members in a group in which one or more members is, for ANY reason, unable to attend (while four class session is in progress), those member(s) unable to attend, for ANY reason, will NOT be issued a refund

 

RE: Four-Class-Pass Private One-on-one Yoga Sessions ~ because scheduling and focus should be fairly flexible in these instances; any classes missed within the four class session will NOT be refunded for ANY reason

 

RE: 5, 10, 15 and 20 Class Passes ~ Refunds will be issued at $10.00/class for any classes not used within the 2015 season upon receipt of a doctor’s note indicating that continuing a yoga program would be harmful

 

 

* FULL refunds will be issued in the event of Dawn Maas deeming any individual’s continued participation in a yoga program to be harmful to said participant or if Dawn Maas is unable to offer professional guidance through any remainder of the 2015 season *
